Hello! I am Mrs. Hays and I teach Kindergarten at Norcross Elementary School. I have taught at Norcross for 10 years and the last 6 have been in kindergarten. I also taught first grade for 4 years here at NES. Prior to that I taught kindergarten for 4 years in South Florida.
I earned my Bachelors Degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and my Masters Degree from Walden University. After that I earned my Educational Specialist Degree from Nova Southeastern University. I hold endorsements in Gifted Education and ESOL.
I was raised in upstate New York and have lived in many states. I have lived in Georgia for the past 10 years. I have one son who lives in California and is an artist. After getting married last year, I also have a step son and a step daughter. My step daughter has two little girls. If you have older children, they may refer to me as Ms. Barnes, my former name.
For fun, I like to line dance, read, watch movies, and go boating. I love being around the water and I really enjoy collecting things associated with lighthouses.
I love teaching children and I enjoy making new friends each year. I look forward to a fun and successful 2013-2014.
